In recent years, paper embroidery has become more popular with the increased popularity of scrapbooking.
The designs can vary from simple line stitches which are popular among scrapbooking enthusiasts. For more elaborate designs, you can embroider full thread embroidery on paper as well. Most paper embroidery items are for display purposes or for gifts. Generally, they are not worn or washed.
